Spending Valentine's day

January 30, 2010

February 14 is fast approaching and this date is a very special day for people in love or people in a relationship which we celebrate once a year. It is a very special day to tell our love to every man or woman we love in our lives. As early as possible we start to think of the best gifts we could give for our sweethearts, it could possibly be your wife, your husband or maybe couples madly in love. The most common valentine gifts usually are flowers and chocolates. That's why during valentine's day these items sells like hotcakes. Others choose to surprise their sweethearts with just a card and a cake as a way of expressing their love on this very special occasion. For those who can afford they opt to buy expensive valentine gifts of their choice. Or if you are still confused on what gift to buy there are Top Valentine's Gifts for 2010, hopefully it will help you decide on what gift to buy. Aside from gifts we also look for a place or make plan on how to celebrate the day. There are many ways to spend valentine's day. Some couples choose to spend their time together to best celebrate the day, have dinner in a cozy restaurant, watch a movie or maybe spend their time in the beach.

Right now, I could not think of any particular gift for my hubby but most probably we'll be spending our time together, have dinner outside of course with my three boys which is the very usual thing we do whenever there are special occasions. My eldest is a first year college nursing student, and since my children are all boys honestly, I am looking forward to have dinner on valentines day together with their girlfriends someday.

Hello everyone!

January 29, 2010

Hello everyone. Hows your day? Me? I feel like going to the gym early instead of late this afternoon. I ate like a horse yesterday...I don't know I really had a good appetite yesterday and I even craved for chicharon bulaklak. But, guys I am definitely not preggy, not now lol! I hope it will not rain today so that I will not be tempted to eat more. Today I don't have any specific task online. I just wanted to keep myself busy but I can't think of something to do aside from my workout. Well, for the meantime i'll be spending my time today in the gym before doing anything else. Walk and jog in the treadmill...lift some weights-dumbbells and barbel...have a talk with my fellows and maybe wait for hubby there since we workout in the same place. What else? oh! I hope I can do more crunches today. I hate to see my belly, obviously I need to burn more fats in this area.

I think I must go now before it will rain...again!!!! Join me in saying: rain rain go away, lol! m just joking- see ya guys. God bless!

Angel Locsin...

January 28, 2010One of the local actresses I admire is miss Angel Locsin, not only for her acting ability, good looks, but the values in her that makes her a better person and one respectable actress. Though she had been dragged to moral issue before like the sex video but that was only a rumor, that issue was officially closed and was proven wrong.

Recently, she was linked to CNN hero Efren Penaflorida but according to her she could only offer friendship to Efren. Though she admitted they went out together with the kids (Efren's Foundation)to watch a movie but, she does not want Efren to expect too much. She is not accepting suitors as of the moment. It was also reported that Luis his erstwhile boyfriend is a constant visitor in their residence and visits her wherever she works.

Hmmmm, I can sense something. I guess Luis is very much assertive in winning back Angel to his arms.
January 27, 2010

I thought it would be a sunny day but the rain pours again. After my workout from the gym I went home immediately. Since it's raining and nothing much to do at home I opened my FB account Friendster, email, etc. to get updates...I also took a quiz from blogthings and below is the result.

blogthings to me:

You Love to Talk About Relationships

You love to talk about people you know. You're not exactly a gossip - you just think a lot about your friends and family.
You're likely to be completely up to date on what's going on in everyone's life. And when someone has good news, you make sure and share it.

You also spend a fair amount of time dissecting relationships and analyzing people. You are always trying to better understand the people you're closest to.
Of all the types, you are the most social. You have a lot of people to talk to and to talk about!

Music and Videos

January 26, 2010

I love music though I can't sing very well. Everybody in the house loves music too! In fact my kids especially my eldest son has his own collection of different kinds of music. It brings back old memories and help me get away with boredom when I am alone at home, how much more when I hear some of my favorite songs online with matching video. Through Music, Video Search Engine I was able to download and copied some of my favorite music videos which will serve as my personal file.

Last week during my spare time, I have copied in my usb some music videos I have downloaded which I think my son would appreciate. Although my kind of music is quiet different from his interest but somehow we meet halfway. I listened to his kind of music every time he shared it with me and so am I with him. Aaron and Khrys copied their favorite music videos too in their own phones with my help. Since I love music and music videos I am pretty sure and confident now where to find it. I have shared it to my common friends and they love it! Since hubby likes music videos too, I hope to share it with him one day when he is free from his workloads in the office or maybe during holiday and weekends.

A very Special Day!

Today is a very special day...It is our 17th wedding anniversary! Nothing unusual, no gifts and surprises, nor a celebration today, though I thought earlier that maybe we could have dinner outside together with the kids but due to unavoidable circumstances we could not do so. Anyway, I am glad that this union have gone this far through thick and thin...and I must admit we have our ups and downs but we remain strong and getting stronger. I hope and pray with God's blessings that this marriage will last a lifetime.
January 23, 2010

My father is still in the hospital. He needs 4 bags of blood ab+ which is very rare to find. We were able to secure two bags and I hope we can find two again tomorrow. Though weak and looked tired but I think he is okay now compared yesterday. I hope he will recover and leave the hospital soon. I am a little bit worried for the bills, it keeps on accumulating day by day.

This morning...

January 22, 2010

Oh my it's raining again when will this rain stops?..

This morning got bad news. My phones message alert tone woke me up. My father is not feeling well again. He had difficulty breathing. He complained of so many unusual feelings he could hardly explain. My sister and my mother rushed him to the hospital this morning for check up but the doctor advised them to admit him. My parents live few blocks away from us. Since they are both old, sickly and no health insurance/card they both depend on us their children for medications. Times like this makes me feel panic for I am always the first one to be consulted on what to do. Some of my brothers live far from us. Though a little bit worried now for the incoming expenses...i know God will provide.

I Must Go...

Huh! it's raining again. No choice, I must leave now. I was absent from the gym yesterday and today I must go. My friend also wanted to see me this afternoon to discuss some important matter. Most probably after workout i'l go to her place somewhere in the downtown area. My other friend a fellow member from our coop asked me to join a trainers training seminar this coming Saturday. I'm still thinking it over if I will join. It's a whole day seminar...I don't think I can stay long attending activity like this. But, I guess it's an opportunity for me to be invited, who knows it will provide an open door for me. An avenue for a new career maybe... well, I remain hopeful. I know they are looking for speakers to conduct seminars for aspiring new members.

See you guys...I'll have to go now, have a nice day and happy blogging!

How the Weather Today Affects Me

The weather is not so good today since last week. I wonder why? The sun shines and then suddenly it rains. I don't understand, I am confused...I don't even hear any news if there is a typhoon coming or going on. This maybe because our place is near in water shed area...i don't know...i think I must find out why. I heard from someone also the other day that there was flood in a certain place nearby. Oh my gosh! maybe i missed the news on local TV due to blogging.

This afternoon it rained which lasted less than an hour. That prevented me in going to the gym, lol!...So, I submit myself sitting here in front of the computer (Actually, since this morning) time runs so fast, wow! It's 4pm already. I changed my mind this time. I wanted to go to the gym, but, I think it's too late already. My program is two hours and travel time takes more than 30 minutes before I can reach the gym. Traffic by this time are starting to build up and the kids will be home by 5pm. Anyway, there's still time tomorrow. Enough for now guys...I still have to prepare something to eat for the boys when they arrive home.

Rugs Add Beauty and Design To Your Homes

January 20, 2010

Wool is the oldest textile fiber which makes it unique. It is one of the material used in different Rugs. In this modern world, rugs are usually treated, basically to prevent it from getting easily dirty.

Rugs are very useful whether in your homes or offices. It will add beauty and design to your place especially to marble or hard wood floors. Safety wise, it will definitely help lessen accidents when use as floor coverings. In my whole life I see rugs in every homes almost everyday and they comes in different colors, shapes, sizes and designs a quality which make it very easy to use to complement every areas in your homes which you think best decorated using an
Area Rugs . I like seeing my cousin's room for her kids. She is very creative and pay so much attention in every corner of her house most especially the boys bedroom.

Choosing Area Rugs as decoration will not put you into a stressful situation. When the time comes that you feel it has to be changed then you can do it right away for it is replaceable anytime. I admired what my cousin did to her boys bedroom. She personalized each area by way of providing an area rug in between the bed. I am looking forward of making the same idea in my boys bedroom too. My boys are usually carefree compared to their girl cousins when it comes to home decors or accents. Maybe because they are still young and don't value it at this time at their very young age as much as I do. They don't mind if one of our rugs are stained.
When it happened they just leave it there, they don't bother to pay attention on it. This kind of situation does not put me into panic, Because rugs are very easy to clean from dirt, spill, grit and dust.

Rugs are available in any store more so in every malls. Prices vary depending on the brand. But, buying rugs need not be expensive. There are Cheap Rugs available in the market which maintains high standard quality. If you are looking for Rugs and don't have enough time to go somewhere else to shop for it, there's nothing to worry about, for your convenience www.superiorrugs.com is a great site that offers high quality rugs at low prices.

Exercise Makes Me Feel Wonderful

January 18, 2010

I want to really feel good today and for the coming days. That's why I started the week with an early exercise today. When the kids already left the house I went to the gym early this morning. I obliged myself to exercise as early as I can today because I was absent for 3 days from the gym last week. I wanted to make my day fresh and energized by way of exercising.

Wow! I finished my two hour program...burned 350 calories in the treadmill by walking and running...perspired a lot...not bad, I guess I must watch my food intake again tonight. I am desperately into loosing weight and wanted to be slim and fit, But sometimes I can't refrain myself from eating too much. Although I am proud to say that there is an improvement since I started to go back to exercise and enrolled myself in the gym. I cannot deny also that there are times when I feel too lazy to go to the gym. Anyway, I am happy and contented with my weight now! at least I lost 4 kilos already and lately a few pounds. What is important for me is that I am not gaining weight and I wish I can
maintain it or better loose more.

I ate my lunch outside today and bought my favorite sandwich and wheaten bread at goldilocks before heading home. It's a healthy bread with zero trans fat, fortified with vitamins and cholesterol free. Though I got a little tired this morning but it's worth it...I feel refreshed...Exercise indeed make me feel wonderful.

January 17, 2010

Oh my gosh! I did not noticed the time...it's already 1:00 am. I am supposed to write something here in my blog this afternoon but I came home late tonight from a very important activity outside---grocery shopping...its a very crucial thing for me which I scheduled during Saturdays and Sundays. Previously, I usually did it during Sundays. But, nowadays, I am more comfortable if I do it during Saturday.

After arranging the items which I bought from the grocery I cooked kikiam which the kids loves to eat and even requested me to cook another round because the one that I first prepared for them was not enough. Oh! my kids really has a good and growing appetite...they are not choosy when it comes to food...except fish paksiw.

Well, so much for now guys for my eyes are about to close already...and could not think well. I think I'd better go to bed now.

An Old Friend's Upcoming Wedding

January 15, 2010

Seeing old friends makes me always feel excited. I was surprised yesterday when my friend called me and asked me to meet with her in a nearby restaurant. I was also excited to see her because it's been a long time since I have not heard even a single word from her. After I have done all my house chores, I immediately went to the place where we agreed to meet. I was teary eyed upon seeing her...We hugged and kissed each other on the cheeks, oh girl it's been a long time I told her.

my friend and I discussed so many things that I did not almost noticed the time. One of the topic being talked about was the planned wedding to her fiancee for two years now. According to her everything has been fixed including the entourage and the receptions. I asked her: What about the invitations? She smiled and told me that somebody was assigned to it. Invitations need not be expensive and she was glad she was able to find cheap invitations online that caters to her budget. I am looking forward to be there and witness my friends wedding. I am glad she finds the man she truly loves for life.

One Memorable and Meaningful Day

January 14, 2010

I took this picture inside the jeep while on my way home. I can't remember exactly the date but I am pretty sure this photo was taken middle of last year 2009. My attention was caught when these mother and daughter were about to ride the jeep that I am riding. First because of the different smell and you can sense that they did not took a bath on that very day. Secondly, they looked untidy and dirty. Even though their appearance seemed to be not appealing to the eyes but I still managed to gave them a smile. After all, they are still human that needs attention and respect. Many questions popped up in mind. Are they real or just acting to make a living? Whatever!!!... I am a mother and I have kids...I was touched and felt sad for the little girl. She was supposed to be in school and not in the street begging for money.

I felt very fortunate and blessed for my kids for they are enjoying all the privileges that a kid should have. Though not all the comforts in life but at least we as parents are working so hard to provide them all their needs, and especially sending them to school. When the vehicle that we are riding stops in front of a certain mall the girl urged her mother to go inside because she is curious. She asked if the food inside are free. So I presumed they have not eaten yet. I handed them a small amount...I know it was just temporary but enough for them to have their lunch. Without hesitation I immediately came out from the jeep even if it was not my destination. Not for their bad smell but because I can't stand to hear another questions coming from the little girl. The situation and curiosity of the little girl really touched me.

While I am sitting in a bench inside the mall I can't refrain from comparing the little girl to my family and kids...It is a great feeling when you were able to share something...I can't forget that day, it was really one memorable and meaningful day for me.

Tuna A Healthy Diet Food

January 13, 2010

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of HealthyTuna.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

I love Tuna. In fact I always have tuna in my list every time I do my grocery shopping. Tuna make great meals and easy to prepare as the main ingredient for a heavy snack, like Tuna salad sandwich which is our favorite. I gained so much weight since I quit from my job and I find tuna also a great diet food. The main health benefit we get from tuna is called Omega-3 fatty acid. This fatty acid helps lower blood pressure and cholesterol as well compared to any other meat. Tuna is high in protein, rich in vitamins, minerals which is good especially for growing children. Another good reason why we should eat tuna is because it is low in saturated fat.

I have read a lot of articles regarding seafood/tuna and its relation to pregnancy. Accordingly it should be prohibited by pregnant women or during pregnancy due to high mercury content. But, recent study showed that it is good and smart for pregnant women to eat tuna provided they should limit their tuna intake every week. The fatty acids in Tuna is important to mother and baby for it helps in the development of baby's brain and eyes.

Since I believed tuna is a great protein and diet food, I would like to share my healthy tuna salad sandwich recipe which I introduced to my kids last year and eventually became the most requested salad sandwich every time they crave for a heavy snack. Honestly, I forgot to take a picture of it but I found in another website that looks similarly to the one I make.

I usually choose wheaten bread when making tuna salad sandwich. Other ingredients are: Lite mayonnaise, can tuna-drained, lettuce, Zucchini, native tomatoes, occasionally I also put it with cheese when kids ask for it. That's all guys very easy to do just arranged the prepared/sliced ingredients enough to meet your taste on top of another. There you have a very healthy and delicious tuna salad sandwich for your meal or for a heavy snack.

My Favorite Day!

January 13, 2010

Today is Wednesday but I will talk about my favorite Saturday. As I have always mentioned in my previous post weekend especially Saturday is one of my favorite day during the week. Definitely because I will not wake up early and so with the kids unlike the rest of the days. This is also the day where I can do everything as planned or whatever I have in mind. In other words Saturday is a free time for all of us in the house and usually the best day to play games online for my kids.

Last Saturday I did not leave the house while the kids preferred to play online. The kids recently found an online game which is quite addicting. But they are responsible enough to balance their time and they know their priorities. They play the game using game currency which can be purchased and make order online through buy cheap wow gold, it's easy to order and very accessible, it is also the best place to buy in-game money. They seemed to be enjoying while playing it.

I am not really into playing games online. But I enjoyed watching the kids when they play online. Recently my kids somehow influenced me to play online games that I resort to it whenever I am free or has nothing to do after a house chores. Seemingly, I am enjoying it too. It entertained me and keeps me always alive too!

Learning to Say No

January 12, 2010

Sometimes we can hardly say no. Most of the time this two letter word puts us into a certain dilemma of no turning back that often leads us into a compromise situation. This morning while checking my email I received a Pre-written Post from BlogEnergizer especially for moms. This post is very interesting and I decided to share it here in my blog, since I know that majority of my readers and fellow bloggers are moms. It's about saying "no"...Though I also believed this post is applicable to anybody not only for moms. Saying no if we feel that is the right answer to a certain situation is fine. I hope this article will help. Please read below.

"No" may be a tiny, two-letter word, but it can be your secret weapon. And you can say it. Here are some ways you can say "no" without feeling guilty about it:

Sorry, I’m taking a break.
The number one reason why you should say, "no" occasionally is simply that you deserve a break. You are chef, chauffeur, dish washer, and more. You job never ends on any given day of the week. You deserve a break. If you feel bad for saying "no", say, "Sorry, I’m taking a break".

My schedule is full.
We tend to jam-pack our schedule full of activities, leaving time for nothing. Cut back on your kids activities. Start a car pool and share driving responsibilities. Do whatever you can to free up some time in your schedule.

I don’t have time.
You’re headed out the door, rushing to the next appointment when the telephone rings. What do you do? Do you come to a screeching halt and answer the phone? Let’s say you do, and it’s a family member, calling to dump their latest woes on you. Do you stand, tapping your foot impatiently while you roll your eyes and listen to the sob story? This is a typical scene for many moms.

I have another commitment that day.
Say it and mean it. Regularly schedule in time with your family or time alone and if someone ask for your help during that time look in your planner and tell them you have another commitment.

Instead of rushing to be everything to everyone, stop. Ask yourself if you truly have time for whatever comes up. If not, say no by walking away, turning off the ringer on the phone, or not answering the knock at your door.

Always remember that you are a mom—not a super hero. When you have to say no, people will understand; if they don’t at first, they will get used to it eventually.

Editor's note: Still having trouble putting your foot down? Sometimes, we just need some extra guidance, a listening ear or a gentle and loving kick in the butt. You might want to give Aurelia Williams's free coaching session (affiliate) a go. She's a life coach and mom of 3 who has adult, teen and school age children so she definitely knows what she's talking about.

Baptism...

January 10, 2010

Today the second Sunday of January 2010 the end of Christmas and marks the beginning of the first Sunday of ordinary days. This morning we attended the third mass and the priest talks about the gift of Baptism. Since we are Catholics and as parents who grew up with this religion it is our faith and obligation to let our children receive the sacrament of Baptism. I am glad that my three children were not deprived from this gift. In catholic faith we believed that In baptism we are being cleansed from original sin. My children are fortunate for they received this gift. Quite sad as well for I believed there are still many children who were not baptized--for having an irresponsible parents...some common reasons maybe because the parents are both busy, no funds available, or they don't mind at all. Well, whatever reasons they have in mind I hope they will always be reminded and will not neglect their children of the gift of baptism.

Remember when as newly weds and as first time parents we are always excited with our unborn child. We make preparations like buying in advance some baby needs. We are excited that we even submit ourselves as mother to have an ultrasound to know the gender of what's inside our womb. When the baby comes out we give and provide everything she/he needs. Preparing for your baby to be baptized would only need a little of your time too. Do not neglect your children from this gift.

Traditionally, during baptism/christening there is always a big celebration. Some spend a lot of their savings for the reception. Others resort to lend money just for the celebration. I am not against of those who can afford to spend that much ...I mean it is their choice and privileged. But, for those who are having financial worries please be practical. What is important is for your child to receive the sacrament of baptism.

(This is only my personal view. I understand and respect others, other religions as well when it comes to baptism and how they celebrate it.)

Can't Stay Long, Good Night Everyone!

Our Life...And A Seesaw!

January 7, 2010

Seesaw is one of the favorite pastime of children and adult inside the park. I remember when I was a child I used to play and ride a seesaw with my friends. It has a board in the center for balance. A person or children sits on both ends facing each other, and they take turns to push their feet against the ground to lift the other end into the air. The feeling when you are in the air being lifted is somewhat amazing, breathtaking, though quiet nervous especially when you are new and not get used to it but it is definitely fun and exciting to play.

This outdoor toy has different names-in some places like in southeast New England it is called tilt or a tilting board. In northeast Masachussettes it is known as a teedle board. Generally in the northeast United States Teeter or teeterboard while teeter-totter is the most common name after seesaw.

Our life is like a seesaw...and we should remember that life is not always a bed roses. Life is not always stable, we have our ups and downs. There are times when we feel down, being bombarded with a lot of problems that sometimes pushed us to do things unlikely. During moments like this we need somebody to lift us up. Somebody who will lift our spirits and inspires us to keep on going no matter what. When your down and suddenly somebody comes to the rescue you always feel good. It's a wonderful feeling when you know there are people who truly cares.

My Friends Logo Design Business

January 6, 2009

As a working mom for eleven years, I could say that it was not easy. Though I missed those times when I was working in the office but no regrets as I was always saying in my previous post. During the early weeks after I resigned from the office I felt sad and bored staying alone in the house doing nothing after a house chores. But, I am glad I was able to overcome the boredom. My new found friend who is into professional logo design business partly helped erased my boredom and helped me realize that there's more to life than just limit myself at the four corners of our home.

I was fascinated by her business, and in fact I became interested in it that makes me a frequent visitor to her shop almost everyday. Looking at those colorful and unique logo designs displayed in her shop deeply inspires me and somehow convinced me to put up a business like that. According to my friend her business exists for more than 2 years now and is receiving bulk orders from different clients. If given a chance and enough resources to fund a business like her which deals on different logo designs, I will not let the opportunity slip away. I would surely love to try this kind of business. I know within myself that I can handle it given the time and resources. I hope this will happen this 2010.

I am Happy Blogging Even Without a PR

January 4, 2009

When my friend Len informed me that her blog got a Page Rank I was happy for her, that was I think October or November. I don't remember exactly what month it was. Last New year she informed me again that her PR increased it's number-from PR 1 to 2. Wow! that was great for a beginner like Len to acquire immediately such a Page Rank. I know Len worked hard and is working so hard to improved her blogs rank and I truly believed she deserved it.

When I started my blog, I don't have any idea what is a page rank (PR). It was only after a few months of blogging that I learned something about it--and even started to dream about it too!...My blog is 10 months old and yet no PR up to now. Anyway, I will not wish for it to happen soon...nor I will be discourage, in fact I am more optimistic that Google will notice my blog. I can wait for it, and as long as I am happy and enjoy what I am doing then this blog of mine will continue to exist.

Happy blogging guys!

My Boys After The Christmas Break

December 3, 2009

After the Christmas break it's back to school again tomorrow. As a result of long vacation and eating during the holidays my boys obviously gained weight and noticeably their waistline added an inch too! This morning we attended a Sunday mass and had our lunch outside... After lunch we went straight to the mall to buy a school pants uniform for Aaron and Khrys. Since it's January already I had a hard time looking for their size because the stocks are limited. Anyway, after a few hours at last I found what we are looking for but this time in another mall.

Everybody got tired, and Khrys my youngest was very vocal in complaining about it. To divert Khrys attention we had our snack at Chowking and I finished my snack ahead of them. I left and headed to grocery to buy some important and needed grocery items for the week. After everything has been done, finally, we went home.

After everybody had rested at home, I can see and feel that my boys are excited to go back to school. In fact before they go to bed they fixed all their stuff for tomorrow--carefully arranged the things inside their bags, clean and shined their shoes too! They set their new fashion wrist watches alarm. I just watched them with a smile as they did those things... they are starting to do things on their own lately and sometimes even without my supervision. My boys are gown up now and soon to be teenagers. I am starting to miss them now.

It's 2010!

January 1, 2010

Time runs so fast, all of the sudden it's 2010, I feel like I am not over yet with 2009. Personally, many good things happened in 2009 and I am very thankful for that. Although 2009 was a tough money year and natural calamities were felt everywhere that affected lots of individuals and families. The economy was down...unemployment was one of the big problem...Still a lot of good things that we need to give thanks too! Little things that we forgot to acknowledge that somehow brought impact on our lives despite the calamities and the problems that burdened us. The year 2009 provided us many lessons financially, lessons that we need to remember and compare for the coming years.

This is my first post for new year and as the new year starts let us reflect within ourselves all the things that we went through for the previous year and start making any plans. Let us start the year with new and fresh ideas to live life to the fullest. Leave those worries behind, things that needs to be forgotten, after all life is what we make it. With prayers, strong determination and hard work to achieved something for yourself is not an elusive thing...Believe in yourself-having a positive outlook in life is a plus factor in achieving your goals that leads you to the road of success.
