Preparing For the New Year
Everybody is busy preparing for the New year! And it has been a tradition for us to prepare 12 kinds of rounded fruits during this time. I started collecting fruits the other day, this afternoon I together with my sis went to Makro and bought something in preparation for the Media Noche. I am pretty sure tomorrow will be a heavy traffic so I made sure I have bought all the stuff and the needed ingredients for my recipes. To complete my 12 kinds of fruits I also bought there apples and grapes. I don't drink but I bought red wine...anyway red wine is very low in alcohol content. A "torotot" too is a must to make some noise, instead of firecrackers.
I am so excited for the coming year and I hope it will be a prosperous and a bountiful new year for everybody! I also wish everyone Peace and good health. Happy New year!!!
I Feel Beautiful...
Yay! I had my hair done this afternoon. I went to a parlor for a hair treatment to make my hair look good and revitalize. I also decided to put color on it. Huh! I stayed in the parlor for more than three hours...three hours is quiet long, in fact I felt sleepy and took a nap there while the beautician did my hair. Yesterday after the gym, out of the blue-hubby and I instantly decided to have a facial. Since it's December a lot of spa's and beauty clinics offered promo's, packages or discounted prices for any services. I Choose a Deep cleansing facial with foot scrub and pedicure at a minimal cost. Wow! I wish every month they will be offering something like this to make more women feel beautiful!...modesty aside, I feel really beautiful now...I don't care what others may say I am just expressing my feelings right at this moment, LOL!
Pampering or treating yourself to places where you can relax and distress is a good idea. It's one way of taking care of yourself after a heavy days work. Of course there are a lot of alternatives to pamper yourself in a manner where you don't have to spend a lot. You can search the net or find them in Magazines, ask from your friends-who knows they know more about the subject. Be resourceful and determined to learn from others!
Holiday greetings!

Spending For The Holidays!
Christmas and Holiday spending need not be expensive. Though they say this is the best time for giving and sharing but we should also bear in mind to possibly save for the coming year. We should also examine and take a closer look at our budget. Limit your spending for the holidays, to be able to come up with your budget or spending limit make sure to list down all your possible expenses, like gifts to buy, food to prepare during noche buena and media noche, etc...If you think you have exceeded your budget then you can simply cut or adjust it before finalizing anything.
When shopping decide where to buy all the things you need. Let's be practical nowadays. I mean when giving it's not the price that matter but the intentions and the sincerity in giving something to a person is more important. If your budget this Holiday season does not permit you to realize all your plans, then don't be sad...instead let's all be thankful for everything we have--especially small things which we overlooked to give thanks to.
Anyway, only a few days more to go before Christmas, and it's a great feeling if we avoid a stressful situation of struggling to pay debts due to overspending that incurred during Christmas and Holidays. Remember, after Christmas there is still New year!
Happy Holidays everyone!

Christmas Vacation...And Thinking About New Year!
I always love weekends or holidays. Times like these is very relaxing for me for I don't have to get up from bed early. I sometimes hate to wake up very early in the morning especially during cold weather, but, I have no choice...I guess it's a common feeling for moms like me, though I am not complaining. I know very well it's being part of my responsibility...a never ending task while I am able to do it, to do everything I can for my family.
It's Christmas Vacation once again and a few days to go before Christmas and New year--The feeling of joy seeing those Holiday decorations, flashing colorful Christmas lights makes me always excited and feeling sad too! It makes me think...and keeps on thinking that the year will end, and I have to welcome the new year. Huh! definitely,I cannot turn back the clock or the years of my existence during my younger years,anymore...How I wish!!! lol. Anyway, that's life and I must go on...and I guess everybody should think about it positively. We have to move forward, live life to the fullest, enjoy life with your family around and accept that we are not getting any younger.
Merry Christmas and advance Happy New Year everyone!
Sunday Shopping With My Children
Got so tired last Sunday shopping with my children for the stuff they need for their Christmas party tomorrow. I enjoyed watching my kids as they were busy and excited choosing a gift for their Kris Kringle. Buying new clothes to wear for Christmas parties sometimes became a tradition for some. I myself seldom buy clothes for my kids. I usually wait for the time wherein malls offer sale or big discounts. Every malls during the month of December offers big discounts, the best time for me to shop (If I have more than enough bucks,lol!)...and thank God this time I was able to buy a few for my children from pants, shirts, shoes etc...at 30 to 50 percent discounts. I also save a lot since I have my BDO Rewards card wherein my accumulated points can be used for payment.
My Thyroid Scan Result
I was teary eyed at first when my doctor stared at me before explaining the result of my thyroid scan. I know by then that the result does not favor my choice of Radioactive treatment--and the scan result confirmed it. I am always afraid of surgery, but I have no choice. The result showed a Nodular goiter with a hypofunctioning nodule...a cold nodule as explained by my doctor can be treated only with surgery. If the hard mass or "bukol" will not be removed there is a tendency that it will become cancerous in the future. Well, who wants cancer anyway...everybody hate it! So, I have to be brave and prepare myself for the surgery early next year.
Tuesday Toot Meme
It's Wednesday already quiet late to post my Tuesday toot. It's been awhile that I have not post a Tuesday toot here so I decided to have it today. My endocrinologist advised me to undergo a Thyroid Scan last November, but since the equipment in the hospital had some defect my supposed schedule was moved last Friday December 4, 2009. I am always afraid of injections and it took me almost 4 hours of waiting just to prepare myself. A drug will be injected before I will be put in a machine which looks like a capsule with a flat screen for scanning. Despite the fear and the nervousness that I felt, I am glad and thankful for my hubby who is always on my side even if he was very busy and tired from an official trip that time. I had my scan result ready now for my doctor to interpret with me anytime this week.
Viva!!! Immaculate Conception...
According to the church dogma, the conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary is without any stain ("macula" in Latin) of original sin. The dogma states that from the first moment of her existence, she was preserved by God from the lack of sanctifying grace that afflicts mankind, and that she was instead filled with divine grace. It is further believed that she lived a life completely free from sin.
In Roman Catholic church, the solemnity of the Immaculate Concepcion is a Holy Day of Obligation. It is a public holiday in some countries where Roman Catholicism is predominantly like Italy. In the Philippines although it is not a holiday, most of Catholics schools makes it almost a holiday.
Get Rid of Bad Breath
Bad breath is a serious problem. It even lessens confidence and one of the most common problem among some people. Others are aware that they have it while others pretend or maybe they are not conscious about it. I have learned that "Bad breath" are caused by many factors especially from the food we eat, our daily hygiene and our general health.
We should not forget to brush our teeth and include our tongue when brushing, because this is where the odor-causing bacteria comes from. Another alternative for bad breath is to gargle with mouthwash which is widely available in the supermarkets and pharmacies. For quick fix you can chew a sugar-free gum or consider a fresh mint leaves.
I am sure also everybody knows hydrogen peroxide...Yes! you may not believe it but it is an economical alternative for bad breath. It is very cheap and can be bought in any pharmacies. Gargle with 50 percent hydrogen peroxide and 50 percent water for 5 to 30 seconds for immediate and lasting cure for microbial bad breath.
Clean your mouth everyday by brushing your teeth and follow these simple and easy steps if you have bad breath. Include it in your daily routine to lessen morning breath too! When you dine out too and found parsley in your plate, you can eat it after dinner to freshen your breath.
Last but not the least you better visit your dentist there maybe some other factor like tooth decay that needs to be extracted.
Planning To Buy a Bunny?
Five months ago we bought two Rabbits colored brown and white as our pet...actually my son Aaron requested it. After 2 months the other one with a color white died. Now we are planning to buy another, maybe soon or during holidays for us to have enough time to look for one. Having a pet entails time and effort. You have to devote some time for your pet everyday. You have to fed them on time, and give special attention. Pets are like human, sometimes I talk to our bunny like my kid. We developed a bond with our pet, we always worry when we are outside away from home, especially my son Aaron.
Bunnies are cute and cuddly...If you are planning to get and care for a pet like rabbits/bunnies think it many times. Here are some tips to know if you're ready to care for a rabbit/bunny. First consideration is the space--do you have enough space to house your rabbit? Second, food is something to consider. Setting aside a budget for your rabbit is a must--you must feed him on time. It's not only food but also your time to clean your pet and it's surroundings. If you think you cannot do all these things, then you are not yet ready--do not buy a bunny! Caring for a pet is no easy task.

December 3, 2009As people grow old Eye problems for some is inevitable. others got Cataract which is a very common problem among individuals aged 60 up, some got blurred visions that will lead to being blind for the rest of their lives. Eyes is one very important part of human body, without it we cannot see and appreciate wonderful things around us. We should always take good care of our eyes. If you feel something is wrong it's better to consult it with an eye doctor before it's too late. I always believed prevention is better than a pound of cure.

On Facing Rainy Days
We cannot avoid any problem to arise, everybody is experiencing it. But, whatever level, or degree a problem might be we must face it squarely with courage because it's part of our life. I have observed some people when facing with difficulties they tend to evade from the situation and living a life full of pretense. With this you only prolonging the agony. It's better to face every problem honestly and with dignity. Finding solutions to every difficulties and problems is not easy sometimes. But, we should always remember: If there is life, there is hope. Let us not loose our hope, let us be brave and and ask guidance from above and trust your family. I believed when problems arise the only things that keep us going is our faith and family.
I myself have gone through a lot and experienced rainy days but I can proudly say had survived from it all. I can relate to a song by Barry Manilow entitled: I Made It Through The Rain. Every time I hear the song it always made me smile. Allow me to share the lyrics of the song.
We dreamers have our ways
Of facing rainy days
And somehow we survive
We keep the feelings warm
Protect them from the storm
Until our time arrives
Then one day the sun appears
And we come shining through those lonely years
I made it through the rain
I kept my world protected
I made it throught the rain
I kept my point of view
I made it through the rain
And found myself respected
By the others who
Got rained on too
And made it through
When friends are hard to find
And life seems so unkind
Sometimes you feel so afraid
Just aim beyond the clouds
And rise above the crowds
And start your own parade
'Cause when I chased my fears away
That's when I knew that I could finally say
I made it through the rain
I kept my world protected
I made it through the rain
I kept my point of view
I made it through the rain
And found myself respected
By the others who
Got rained on too
And made it through
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!...
